2010 Summer Day Camps

Finding Your Writer’s Voice- Creative Writing for Girls
June 21-24, 2010
9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Stretch your imagination through this playful and participatory writing class for girls. Along with writing stories, girls will use computers to add graphics and photographs to their work, expanding their creative experience. No previous computer experience necessary. Cost: $125

Digital Diaries – Making Movie Magic Ages 9-12
July 19 – 22, 2010
9:00 am – 12:00 pm

 

Make movie magic while creating your own story using poetry, lyrics, and creative writing. We will combine writing with music and images to create a short movie. Throughout the creative process, you will learn programs such as Adobe Photoshop Elements, Windows Movie Maker, Word, and Web browsing software, as we enhance your writing skills. Cost: $125

Techno Photography Fun for Girls & Boys Ages 8-12
July 26 – 29, 2010
9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Participants will begin each day by learning about the FUNdamentals of photography. Once they have their photos, the fun begins! They transform their photos using filters, color adjustments, retouching tools, layer styles, shapes, text, and selection options. Photos are then arranged to create scrapbook pages and movies. Cost: $125

 

Tricky Video for Girls & Boys Ages 8-12
August 2-5, 2010
9:00 am – 12:00 pm

 

Want to create movies like a high tech special effects master moviemaker? We will be using digital video to show young directors how to make people disappear, how to stage an action scene, and more — in short, how to be a video genius. At the end of camp each camper will come home with a short movie that they produced. No previous computer or video experience necessary. Video Cameras will be provided. Cost: $125
