Stretch Your Giving with the Childcare Tax Credit
Cash contributions earmarked for the YWCA's Children's Alley childcare program may be eligible for the State of Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit. Any taxpayer or corporation that makes a monetary contribution to promote qualifying childcare in Colorado may claim an income tax credit of 50% of the total contribution.

- Through the childcare tax credit, your out-of-pocket cost for a $1,000 donation is $327.
- For a $500 donation, your out-of-pocket net donation is $163.

Special Donation Opportunity
The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 extends an important tax provision that allows Individual Retirement Account (IRA) owners over the age of 70 ½ to make tax-free distributions to charities in years 2008 and 2009.  This is known as a qualified charitable distribution and can be counted as all or a portion of the required minimum distribution of the taxpayer.
