Museum of Boulder Field Trip

Last week, Persimmon Early Learning’s fitness instructor April led children in our Wobbler class, ages 1-2 years, on a field trip to The Museum of Boulder.

The group of eight children and four teachers played in the children’s interactive section of the museum, including large climbing blocks, a wall of pictures of indigenous people of Boulder, a pretend diner, art installations, and a music room.

One of the most popular activities was the interactive music room which had pads on the floor that made different sounds when the kids walked and jumped on them. As the students and teachers walked together on the pads, a song was created and memories were formed.

According to Early Childhood Education and Care, one of the most effective ways to facilitate experiential learning is through short field trips for preschoolers.

We are thrilled to be able to provide field trip opportunities and make it part of our curriculum. All Persimmon Early Learning teachers are Early Childhood Teacher (ECT)-qualified and have continued coaching in children’s social/emotional growth and regulation to support all developmental needs. Our highly qualified teaching team works to strengthen all areas of child growth and pre-academic skills including social-emotional, gross and fine motor skills, early literacy, STEM, and social studies.
